How to get your .bd domain

Questions about .bd domains
Who can register a .bd domain?
Anyone in Bangladesh or abroad with a valid NID or passport can register .com.bd, .net.bd, .info.bd and .বাংলা. .org.bd, .edu.bd, .ac.bd and .gov.bd are for organisations, institutions and government offices and need their papers.
Which documents do I need?
Usually a clear photo or scan of the owner's NID (both sides) or passport. Companies add a trade licence; institutions and offices a signed letter on their pad. You upload them in the cart when you order.
How long does it take?
Once your papers are complete and the order is paid, BTCL usually activates the domain in 1 to 3 working days. We e-mail you as soon as it is live.
Can I use the domain with any hosting?
Yes. You can point it to our hosting, to any other host, or use our free DNS. With our hosting we connect it for you.
Can I transfer my .bd domain to HostHolder?
Yes. .bd domains move by request, not with an EPP code: open a ticket with the domain name and the owner's NID, and we handle it with BTCL.
What happens if I do not renew?
The website and e-mail stop working after the expiry date, and after the grace period the name can be taken by someone else. Turn on auto renew in your client area to be safe.
